CHARTER OF ETHICS
COACHING
The Coaching Code of Ethics
1 - Vision of coaching
The coach respects the dignity and integrity of his clients and promotes their own resources.
It provides them with constructive support, helps them to set motivating and fulfilling goals and to give the best of themselves to improve and surpass themselves.
He accompanies them in the implementation of means, strategies or exercises favoring personal development and the achievement of their objectives as quickly and efficiently as possible.
2 - Professionalism
The coach undertakes to provide the client with effective and professional assistance, to avoid causing him harm either voluntarily or through negligence.
Practice of tele-coaching and use of the internet The coach considers the telephone, the Internet or other remote communication technologies as tools that can be used in the practice of their activity.
Refusal of a mission
The coach is entitled to refuse a mission if it does not seem to him to be in line with his ethics, his skills or the interest of the person or the organization. He can also end the coaching at any time insofar as the intervention no longer benefits the client or the collaboration becomes difficult.
3 - Contract
From the start of a coaching relationship, the coach agrees in writing to a clear contract with their clients. The conditions of this agreement include the competence of the coach, the objectives of the mission, the nature of the service offered, the confidentiality clause and the responsibilities of each.
It also specifies the frequency and duration of the interviews, the way in which they will take place (in person, by telephone, by Internet, during a seminar, in individual coaching or other) as well as the amount of the fees to be collected by the coach.
This charter is appended to each coaching contract and is duly signed and approved by all parties in question.
4 - Payment
In the event of an unannounced absence, the participant cannot claim either a refund, a replacement or compensation for the service not followed.
5 - Customer protection
5.1. Volunteering
The person being coached, if he is not on the initiative, must volunteer to benefit from this service. The coach proceeds, if necessary, to the verification of this commitment.
5.2. Respect for the interests of the client
The coach ensures that his intervention serves the interests of the person being coached and his organization. He ensures that he acts with a high level of integrity and reliability throughout the duration of the coaching relationship. He verifies that he has the skills to intervene effectively in the areas for which he is consulted.
If not, he suggests other directions or calls on more specialized people.
He undertakes to promote the autonomy and personal development of his client and refrains from any abuse of influence. Under no circumstances does he take advantage of the coaching situation to derive non-contractual advantages, whether financial, social, emotional or sexual.
5.3. Privacy
He guarantees compliance with contractual commitments and adheres to the rule of confidentiality, within the limits imposed on him by the law of his country. He ensures that the information exchanged is for the benefit of his client and not for the personal or professional promotion of the coach.
In this sense, a point can be made at the end and/or during the mission between the coachee, the company and possibly the coach, according to the methods initially planned and which, in any case, will respect the integrity of the person being coached.
5.4. Stopping a mission
If, during the coaching relationship, the coach finds that it is no longer possible for him to function according to the terms of the contract or to maintain his posture as a coach, he is under an ethical obligation to put an end to it by explaining clearly the reasons for his decision. As far as possible, he will make sure to offer other options to his client.
5.5. Beyond Coaching
Beyond the term of the said contract, the coach continues to be bound by strict respect for professional secrecy and undertakes never to disclose any information shared by his client.
6 - Customer responsibility
Clients are prohibited from making video or audio recordings, taking photos or posting private information about the Coach or other Clients on social networks without the explicit consent of the Coach and, where applicable, of the participants.
6.1. Responsibility
The Coach declines all responsibility for any damage that participants may suffer. They must therefore take out sufficient civil liability insurance. The Coach cannot be held responsible for theft or loss.
Participants agree to show courtesy, kindness and mutual respect. They are committed to the utmost discretion regarding the comments exchanged during the seminars and workshops. They adopt correct attire throughout the building housing the training.
